Calvanist & Arminians

Are you a Calvinist or an Arminian?These are two theological viewpoints that have divided the Christian world for decades. Most professing Christians are not sure which they are and many have never heard of either. Most evangelical Christians are Arminian. And don’t know it. Both viewpoints are Christian but differ in five areas of thought that are not essential requirements to be a Christian.

Arminianism is a theological viewpoint

based on the teachings of Dutch theologian Jacob Arminius, for whom it is named. Calvinism is a theological viewpoint often referred to as Reformed Theology. The Reformed tradition was advanced by several theologians such as Martin Bucer, Heinrich Bullinger, Peter Martyr Vermigli, and Huldrych Zwingli, but it bears the name of the French reformer John Calvin because of his prominent influence on it

This article looks at both side by side and you can decide which you prefer to believe. As you review the points of each pray and ask for the guidance of The Holy Spirit. Many believe that you have to be totally one or the other but I believe that you can be split in your belief as I am. I am a 3/2 Calminian. ( I got this word from Dr. Walter Martin a number of years ago). I accept 1, 4 and 5 of Calvinism and 2 and 3 of

According to Arminianism:

Salvation is accomplished through the combined efforts of God (who takes the initiative) and man (who must respond) - man's response being the determining factor. God has provided salvation for everyone, but His provision becomes effective only for those who, of their own free will, "choose" to cooperate with Him and accept His offer of grace. At this crucial point, man's will plays a decisive role; thus man, not God, determines who will be recipients of the gift of salvation. Salvation can be lost by bad works and committing a willful sin that is not repented for. Thus you can be saved this morning and lost this evening.

:According to Calvinism:

Salvation is accomplished by the almighty power of the Triune God. The Father chose a people, the Son died for them, the Holy Spirit makes Christ's death effective by bringing the elect to faith and repentance, thereby causing them to willingly obey the gospel. The entire process (election, redemption, regeneration) is the work of God and is by grace alone. Thus God, not man, determines who will be the recipients of the gift of salvation and it can never be lost.

I hope my efforts have been enlightening to you

SPECIAL NOTE:

Some believe that you must be 100% a Calvanist or an Arminian. You can however be split in your belief as I am. I consider myself as a 2, 3 Calminiann . I’M ot going to tell you what my split is; Prayerfully study this and draw your conclusion.

I will tell you that I am a Reformed Theologian But I am Not a 5 point Calvinist.

This is what Reformed Theology is ;

Reformed Theology is built upon the premise of God's favor/ (GRACE) that we do not merit. And are basic to this true Biblical faith and inextricably linked is the Reformed doctrine of inerrancy of the word of God that makes it the ultimate authority, rather than of leaders over the church.
