Bible Difficulties & appeared conflicts & contridictions

Introduction to Bible Difficulties and
and what appears to be Bible Contradictions or Conflicts & False assumptions

Bible difficulties, and what appears to be Bible contradictions do exist. The opponents of Christianity often use them in their attempts to discredit The Bible and Christianity. Sometimes these attacks undermine the faith of Christians who either doesn't understand the issues and or doesn't have the knowledge or resources to deal with them.
Opponents of Christianity will cite what they consider to be a Bible contradiction by comparing one verse to another or others that seem to disagree with the first one. In doing this, several verses are often referenced usually out of context as being contradictory or problematic. Supposed Contradiction Examples, 1: How many of each kind of animal did Noah bring into the ark? Genesis 6:19-20 says two while Gen. 7:2-3 mentions seven.Example 2; How many children did Abraham have, one or two Gen. 22:2 and Heb. 11:17 says one and Gal. 4:22 says two. Example 3; Who sold Joseph into Egypt, the Midianites or the Ishmaelites? Gen. 37:36 says the Midianites and Gen.39:1 says Ishmaelites. Example 4; Matt.27:5 says Judas hanged himself.

Acts 1:18 says he fell and his bowels gushed out.

That appears to be a contradiction. Which is correct? Matthew also says that the priest bought the potters field and Acts says that Judas bought it. Again which is it

Judas gave the money back  and the priest did buy the potters field with it( Matthew 27:3-7) He did hang himself and fell to the rocks below and his bowels did gush out .  Both are correct that happened at different times.

Example 5; Exodus 31:1 8 says that the finger of God wrote the Law on the tablets of stone, And 34:28 says that Moses wrote the Law on the tablets. This definitely appears to contradict.

Example 6; Hebrews 11: 5a says Enoch should not see death and in 13a he is included in the ones that died.

The Problems and Contradictions Only exists in a lack of understanding, Not in the Bible--which is always the case with alleged biblical contradictions and conflicts.

Problematic Examples: Don't Gen. 1 and 2 present contradictory creation accounts? Example 2: Where did Cain get his wife? Example 3: If God hardened Pharaoh’s heart what did he do wrong by rebelling against God?

Example 4:If God is not the author of confusion how do you explain what happened at the Tower of Babal as described in Gen. 11:8-9?

Example 5: Atheist love this one

Ezek. 18:20b “The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son” :and II Sam. 12:14 “Howbeit, because by this deed thou hast given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme, the child also that is born unto thee shall surely die.”

This is just a small sampling of the many seemingly contradictory verses and problematic statements or situations that can be found within the 66 books of the Bible.

This definitely appears to be a contradiction, .so here is what seems to me to be the answer.

1.(Deuteronomy 10:1-4) should clarify Exodus 34:28 for us. It says; “At that time the LORD said unto me, Hew thee two tables of stone like unto the first, and come up unto me into the mount, and make thee an ark of wood.

2 And I will write on the tables the words that were in the first tables which thou brakest, and thou shalt put them in the ark.

3 And I made an ark of shittim wood, and hewed two tables of stone like unto the first, and went up into the mount, having the two tables in mine hand.

4 And he wrote on the tables, according to the first writing, the ten commandments, which the LORD spake unto you in the mount out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly: and the LORD gave them unto me.”So when Exodus 34:28 says, “So he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he did not eat bread or drink water. And he wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments,” the ‘he’ in the second sentence refers to the LORD, not Moses.

Supposed contradiction #5 Genesis 1:27 says GOD CREATED MALE AND FEMALE AT THE SAME TIME AND2:22SAYS HE MADE EVE fromAdam’s rib Which is it?

Hebrews 11:5a says that Enoch should not see death and he was included in 11:13as of those all that died without having received the promise.

We know that the Bible does Not contradict itself so when it appears too we need further understanding .

Which Death Did Enoch Escape?

Enoch lived only three hundred and sixty-five years. Then what could Paul possibly have meant by saying: "By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found because God had translated him?" This verse nowhere says that Enoch did not die. Rather, it says that Enoch "should not see death." But what does it mean?

There is more than one death mentioned in the Bible. There is a first death, and there is a second death (Revelation 20:6). Which death did Paul mean?

The first death is appointed unto ALL men (Hebrews 9:27). That death can not be humanly evaded. It is inevitable. That death Enoch died, as I have already proven.

But Paul was not writing about that death. The phrase "should not see" is in the conditional tense of the verb, having reference to a future event. It is not in the past tense, that he "did not see" death - but that he "should not see death." So this death that Enoch escaped by being translated is one that he can escape in the future on Certain Conditions!

Did Jesus ever speak of a death that might be escaped? He certainly did! In John 8:51 Jesus said, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my sayings, he shall never see death" - shall never see - that is, suffer - the second death! And again in John 11:26, "Who so liveth and believeth in Me shall never die" -  or "shall not die forever."(that is Spiritually)

This death is one that can be escaped on condition that men keep the sayings of Jesus and believe Him. This death is not the first death, because Christians who keep Jesus' sayings die this first death. Then the death which Enoch should escape must be the second death which will NEVER TOUCH THOSE WHO ARE IN THE FIRST RESURRECTION (Revelation 20:6).
And Enoch will be in the first resurrection because he met the conditions!

Problem Question #1 Don't Gen. 1 and 2 present contradictory creation accounts?

There is no contradiction between Genesis 1 and 2. Genesis 1 is a detailed explanation of the six days of creation, day by day. Genesis 2 is a recap of days 1-5 and a more detailed explanation of the sixth day, the day that Adam and Eve were made. The recap is stated in Gen. 2:4 NIV, "This is the account of the heavens and the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made earth and heaven." Then, Moses goes on to detail the creation of Adam and Eve as is seen in verses 7 thru 24 of Gen. 2. Proof that it is not a creative account is found in the fact that animals aren't even mentioned until after the creation of Adam. Why? Because their purpose was designated by Adam. They didn't need to be mentioned until after Adam was created

Problem Question #2 Where did Cain get his wife?

We see in the Bible in Genesis 3 where Adam and Eve were cursed and sent out of the Garden of Eden. In Genesis 4, Cain kills Abel. In Genesis 4:17 we see that Cain had relations with his wife. Where did he get his wife? The answer is simple. Cain married one of his sisters.
Genesis 5:4 says, "Then the days of Adam after he became the father of Seth were eight hundred years, and he had other sons and daughters." We see that Adam and Eve had many sons and daughters. The genetic lineage of Adam and Eve was perfect so marrying a sister wasn't going to cause birth defects. It wasn't until much later, during the time of Moses, that incest was forbidden as the genetic pool became less and less able to stand interbreeding. One of the problems with this question is that people read into Gen 4:17 something that is not there. They assume that Cain got a wife in Nod but it does not say that. It only says that he had sexual relations with her after he got there. There was not another family of people there.

Problem Question #3 If God hardened Pharaoh’s heart what did he do wrong by rebelling against God?

God knew Pharaoh would harden his own heart and He chose not to act in such a way as to prevent that from happening. The Pharoah made his own free will decision to rebel against God. God caused his heart to harden by not intervening to prevent it from happening. In other words He let him do it himself therefore he rebelled against God because he wanted to do so.

Problem Example#4

If God is not the author of confusion how do you explain what happened at the Tower of Babal as described in Gen. 11:8-9?

This isn't a difficult issue at all. On one hand, God is not the author of confusion: "For God is not a God of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints," (1 Cor. 14:33). The context of this verse is dealing with the gift of tongues as were spoken in Christian churches in its early years. Foreigners would attend these churches and hear their own languages being spoken. There would often be interpretations of these tongues. Also, Christians would be over eager in their use of various tongues and this would often lead to confusion as people then did not do things in order. Therefore, in the immediate verses prior to (1 Cor. 14:33), Paul had just given instruction on the proper use of the tongues in the church, a use which stated order and sequence. The goal was not to produce a confusion among the hearers so that they would not understand the gospel.\ Instead, it was to produce an orderly service of worship.
The context of the Tower of Babel is quite different. The people of the earth were attempting to build a tower that would "...reach into heaven, and let us make for ourselves a name; lest we be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth." (Gen. 11:4). The sin of the people was their great pride. They were seeking to remain one group in one location under their own efforts. Ultimately, this was a defiance of God's proclamation to fill the earth (Gen. 9:1). God wanted them to spread out. "So the Lord scattered them abroad from there over the face of the whole earth; and they stopped building the city. 9Therefore its name was called Babel, because there the Lord confused the language of the whole earth; and from there the Lord scattered them abroad over the face of the whole earth," (Gen. 11:8-9). Therefore, there is no contradiction since each is a different context and a different subject.

False Assumption of Unbelievers

Jesus cannot be God because It would mean that God died and God can't die.

The last 3 words of the assumption is true.

Jesus' sacrifice was divine, as well as human, in nature. The nan Jesus died. But, we know that God cannot die. So, if the divine nature did not die, how can it be said that Jesus' sacrifice was divine in nature? The answer is that the attributes of divinity, as well as humanity, were ascribed to the person Jesus. Therefore, since the person of Jesus died, His death was of infinite value because the properties of divinity were ascribed to the person in His death. This is called the Hypostatic Union.  See the article by that title

FINALTWO;

# 1Eenesis 1:26-27 says that GOD CREATED MALE AND FEMALE AT THE SAME TIME AND 2

;22 SAYS THAT God made woman later from a rib from Adam.???

How?How?

This was the toughest and most interesting one that I prayed hard over as I searched the bible for the correct answer based in the bible. This struggle was because of what tradion had taught me in Sunday school and further in life. The first thing that grabbed my attention was created and made

Here is what I came up with that I believe and feel comfortable in sharing with others as Truth from God’s word.

Many attempts have been made to explain exactly how God created Eve from the side of Adam, but all attempts to understand the process are fruitless because it does Not say that God created eve from the rib of Adam but it does say that He Made her from the rib. We are simply not told how God did it. The only thing we can know for certain is that God made Eve from part of the body of Adam that had already been created from nothing but dust..

Was Eve a Special Creation

The Bible says that Eve was specially created by God. There is no hint of any type of evolution occurring here. As was true with the creation of Adam, Eve was directly created by God and brought into visibility later. ( she wasMade)

Special Creation

The Bible says that Eve was specially created by God. There is no hint of any type of evolution occurring here. as is true with the creation of Adam from dust, Eve was directly created by God also.

#2Many Assume that Jesus wanted His Father to take away His Death on the Cross based on Matt.26:39 that says; “And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.’’

He did Not request Delivery from the cross as that is assumed from His words stated in John 12:37 that says;

Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour.”

Here is a good one that requires a whole lesson to explain.

The bible says that no man has ever seen God and lived and Exodus 3:12 says that God spoke to Moses face to face. Which is it? The first statement in those words is not found in the bible. It is a misquote of Exodus 33:20 The second requires a stand alone lesson to explain.

Now one with a Science contradiction. Science says the earth rotates around the sun and the Bible says that GOD STOPPED THE SUN FROM SHINING ON THE EARTH AND STOOD STILL FOR ABOUT A DAY. Which is right?

Answer; Both are in their context. Joshua 10:13 does say the sun stood still but if you keep reading through 15 you will find that there was no day like it before it or ever since.

I had to add this long standing Bad no basis Tradition.

This Tradition tells us that Eve ate ate forbidden fruit from the tree of Knowledge of good and evil and it’s fruit was an Apple. OH YEA ! Apple is mentioned 8 eight times in the bible and it is NEVER said to be the forbidden fruit that grew on the tree of knowledge of good and evil was apples That tradition that no one knows where it came from has been taught in churches as an Unchallenged fact to kids and adults for Decades the word apple is only in the bible 8 times and is NEVER mentioned as the fruit on the tree of knowledge and good and evil.!!
